The mission of the Sunday School (Christian Education Ministry Team) is to support the Ministerial Staff (specifically the Director of Christian Education and Children’s Minister) in planning, coordinating and overseeing church based religious educational opportunities for the seeker of all ages.  To include:

• Assessing the needs, identifying gaps and setting priorities for the congregation’s educational opportunities for all ages
• Planning and evaluating settings for teaching, learning and practicing spiritual activities for all ages
• Identifying and equipping effective leaders for each of the educational efforts provided
• Empower, Enable, Enrich and Equip teachers, leaders and participants who take part in education

The role of the Education Ministry Team are to:

q       Publicize and promote opportunities for teaching and learning

q       Coordinate Sunday school and age-level ministries

q       Plan and coordinate special events e.g. Vacation Bible School (with the Children’s Ministry Team) and other educational opportunities e.g. small group studies

 

The membership of the education Ministry team shall consist of:

Director of Christian Education and Children’s Ministry/ Sunday School Superintendent

Coordinators from:

Children’s Ministry Team

Youth Ministry

Adult Sunday school

* NEW MEMBER CLASS AND ORIENTATION THE FIRST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 9:30Am in THE ANNEX BUILDING

 

The on-going activities for which the education ministry team will be primarily responsible for are:

Sunday School for all ages:  Sunday Mornings at 9:30 am;

TEEN SCHOOL 2nd  & 4^th Sunday of EACh Month at 10:00 am

Vacation Bible School July 6th -10th  night at 7 pm
July 11th Youth day & Late Night Bowl (info at VBS)

 

Our classes are divided as follows:

Up to pre-K

 

1^st through 3^rd grade

 

4^th through 6th grade

 

7^th and 8^th grade

 

High school

 

* Please keep in mind that children will sometimes be shifted from one class to another based upon their bible knowledge and personal maturity.

 

 

 

Adult Sunday School Classes

Sunday school for adults is the core of our Christian Education Program.  Currently, we have one adult classes which vary by age, size, style of teaching and learning, choice of curriculum, and theological learning.  This class meets throughout the year.  All are welcome both visitors and new members.  They include:

Christian Forum:   The Christian Forum Sunday school class is made up of active, earnest seekers of the Word of God.  They seek a personal biblical and theological awareness so that they may have an informed personal witness in their daily lives. 

As seekers, they are encouraged to share their diversity of faith experiences through unconditionally accepting class comments and discussions.  Several members share responsibilities for teaching. 

The class-selected curriculum includes biblical studies, social and ethical issues, theological commentaries, world religions, etc., in  hard copy that is presented in lecture/discussion style.
